About This Product
Motor J509 — Precision CNC Machined High-Performance Rocket Motor. A 54mm Class J reloadable motor built around a 4-grain BATES KNDX propellant charge, machined from aerospace-grade aluminium with a graphite nozzle and stainless steel retention hardware.
Delivering an average thrust of 509N over a 1.99 second burn, Motor J509 sits between the J-265 and J-710 in our J-class lineup, suited to mid-weight high-power builds where a fast, punchy boost phase is wanted. The reloadable case design means only the consumable parts (casting tube, liner, O-rings, circlip, fuel and oxidiser) need replacing between flights — the casing, nozzle, forward closure and retention ring are reused.
As with all Rocketeers amateur motors, every hardware component is also sold individually as a spare, and a dedicated reload kit bundles the consumables needed for each refill.
